Pecans, Pinecones & The Path Forward...
The truth is all I have now.
Aslan says to the children…
“Create conversation. Around the dangerous topics. Speak truth or else you will perish like a coward hiding in an alleyway hoping not to be found. Lights from a car driving slowly searching. It is loaded with gangsters, stops, swerving and sees you huddled in the corner as you cry,
“ Please, don’t hurt me.”
Like a Lion stalking over a savannah I feel the pull of power, of expression, of authority. Like a lioness I roar, courage crowns my tattered mane. I take up the pen and write the terrible words, topics so true, they seem incongruent with reality.
Roar, I must.
Teeth sharp and ready to rip into the underbelly of the beast.
The silence is slowly surrounding the Serengeti. Animals seek shelter, small afraid, cowering as the Lioness smells their fear. Night is coming. The heat from the day still hovers above the land, darkness will offer some refuge. Hiding is key. To survive from the predators, shrink shamelessly, dig in, keep watch until daylight returns. The Lioness has no fear. Right has Might. Benevolence will not be served tonight.
The Lioness grows wings flying high into a darkening sky.
The truth has teeth and needs to eat…

Well that's powerful and beautiful.
Amen! That’s a wonderful quote by Sylvia Plath, too.
