Pecans & Pinecones
As I persevere so goes my courage....
I am about to do a drive by posting because it’s already 3:33 pm here in North Texas and the grands will be here in roughly two hours…
But in two days time I will celebrate the second of several anniversaries. My two years here on Sub Stack. Saturday’s are a grab bag of whatever is happening in my my life at the moment. I try not to make God laugh at all my perfectionist plans, because I know better. So we mark it today!
Happy two years to me & my followers.
At my writing desk, preparing for reading my pages to my writing group.
Yes, I am in a robe with my pajamas on, but notice I did my eyes!
I wanted to pop in and say thank you to all the humans who donate their time to my writing. I hope I make you feel something because you are not a Bot. Make you laugh, make you think, make you mad. (Not at me at the systems- of course) I know I can make you cry. Most of my stuff is sad, because I suffered and still do. But guess what, I am grateful for most of it, because that well will never run dry. I will always have a story to tell…
If we are being honest, haven’t we all suffered?
But not today.
I will walk my grandsons down to the lake and watch them wade in it. I will curse the humidity and wish my right knee wasn’t so stiff. I will smile, I will laugh, maybe warn them to be careful knowing that lake like I do. Where once upon time, many moons ago a young brown girl stood on the shore, stared down at the dark green water and wondered…what was underneath it’s surface.

Congratulations on two years, friend! My life is richer for having your essays in it! Keep writing!!!
Thank you. It can’t believe how the time is flying. And perhaps I can interview you. I really miss my long form News packages. Maybe we can collaborate again?
